Brian May
Sir Brian May is a legendary English musician, singer, and songwriter, best known as the lead guitarist of the rock band Queen. Born in Hampton, London, May’s career began in the late 1960s, eventually evolving into a global phenomenon that blended hard rock, pop, and operatic scales. Beyond his contributions to rock anthems like "Bohemian Rhapsody," his versatility spans heavy metal, funk, and stage and screen compositions. A scholar as well as a performer, his PhD in astrophysics reflects the precision found in his complex, multi-tracked guitar arrangements. May has earned numerous accolades, including a knighthood and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. While famously associated with his handmade "Red Special," his sonic palette is expanded by gear such as the Gibson Flying V, the Guild F-512 12-string, and the Vox AC30TBR. His mastery of the Boss CE-1 Chorus Ensemble and various Fender models allows him to craft the lush, orchestral textures that define his signature sound.
