Elixir is an American string brand from W. L. Gore & Associates, known for coated acoustic, electric and bass guitar strings. Its range includes complete sets, individual replacement strings and multipacks, with options for six- and 12-string guitars.
The brand is particularly associated with its POLYWEB, NANOWEB and OPTIWEB coating families, which offer different playing feels and tonal characteristics. Its coated wound strings are designed to reduce the build-up of contamination between the windings. The range also includes Anti-Rust plain steel strings, phosphor bronze acoustic strings and multiple string gauges.
On MyGear, Elixir has 61 products currently in stock at partner retailers, priced from €2 to €60. This selection sits within the replacement-string and maintenance-accessory market, spanning individual strings through to multipacks rather than instruments. Listed examples include OPTIWEB 9–42 electric sets, POLYWEB 10–47 sets for 12-string acoustic guitars and NANOWEB phosphor bronze acoustic sets.
