Sela Mini Cabasa

Available from Bax Music at €18.90.

The Sela Mini Cabasa is a handy percussion tool suited to educators percussionists and anyone adding subtle rhythmic colour to their setup. It uses a modern cabasa design with a cylindrical head and tightly packed metal beads that glide over a textured metal surface. This gives you smooth airy sounds that sit neatly in samba jazz pop and classroom music. You get a sturdy pine body finished in black plus a foam-covered handle that keeps things comfortable during longer sessions. Its 60 mm diameter makes it easy to control whether youre shaking patterns or twisting the handle for sharper accents. The compact size also makes it a practical option for younger players or smaller hands. Because it works well in both studio and live settings you can use it for soft layering group work or gentle textural parts in an ensemble. Its a simple durable instrument that slots naturally into a wide range of musical environments.
