Spitfire Audio Albion Tundra

Available from Gear4Music at €469.19.

The Spitfire Audio Albion Tundra is a Kontakt-based orchestral instrument for composers scoring intimate atmospheric music with restrained orchestral detail. Built around a 100-piece orchestra recorded at the edge of silence Tundra focuses on quiet dynamics and exposed textures rather than traditional power. The string sections are re-voiced for a cooler transparent tone using muted techniques poly-divisi and unconventional bowing styles to emphasise clarity and space. Woodwinds and brass are approached chorally delivering raw breathy ensembles that move smoothly between near-silence and mezzo-piano. Alongside the core orchestra you get evolving drones warped orchestral pads and distinctive percussion all designed to add subtle momentum without overpowering a mix. Housed in Spitfires eDNA and Evo Grid engines Albion Tundra is a focused toolkit for modern cinematic ambient and minimalist scoring.
