Cherry Audio Mercury-8

Available from Gear4Music at 57,62 €.

The Cherry Audio Mercury-8 is a virtual polysynth built for producers and sound designers who want authentic JP-8 tone with modern workflow advantages. Its dual-layer architecture delivers 16 voices per layer giving you powerful stacked textures or expressive split setups. Precision circuit and behaviour modelling recreates the character of the original hardware while adding welcome extras such as multi-voice variation drift controls and expanded modulation. And because it runs on virtual analogue synthesis rather than samples you can shape every parameter in real time without compromise. The flexible modulation matrix built-in arpeggiator and polyphonic step sequencer make pattern creation quick and intuitive while three independent effect chains provide a complete studio-ready signal path. With over 600 presets including the original JP-8 factory set and enhanced "Factory Plus" versions Mercury-8 gives you immediate access to classic tones and modern sound design starting points.
