The Gibson Custom 1959 ES-335 Reissue VOS is a meticulously crafted recreation of one of the most revered semi-hollow electric guitars ever produced. Developed through extensive research scanning and hands-on evaluation of original 1959 instruments this model captures the defining feel tone and visual character that established the ES-335 as a cornerstone of electric guitar design. Built by the expert luthiers of the Gibson Custom Shop it delivers a deeply authentic vintage experience paired with modern build consistency. Constructed with a 3-ply maple poplar and maple body and a solid maple centre block the 1959 ES-335 offers the ideal balance between hollowbody warmth and solidbody sustain. Rounded cutaways dot inlays and period-correct contours reflect late-50s specifications while the Vintage Natural nitrocellulose VOS finish highlights the grain and subtle ageing details associated with well-preserved originals. From clean articulation to driven blues and rock tones this reissue delivers the unmistakable voice that made the ES-335 a legend.
