The Seymour Duncan MortalCoil 7 sString Set is a three-voice active humbucker system designed for players who demand precision power and flexibility from a modern pickup. Built to handle extreme gain while retaining clarity and definition MortalCoil delivers a focused mix-ready response that stays tight across fast riffing palm-muted passages and complex chord work. Its primary MC1 voice is engineered specifically for modern metal offering controlled low end articulate mids and a cutting top end without unwanted fizz. Beyond its modern voice MortalCoil expands into classic territory with additional voicings inspired by Seymour Duncans iconic JB and Jazz pickups alongside a dedicated single-coil voice for cleaner textures and edge-of-breakup tones. High-density copper coils and an all-new low-distortion preamp provide fast transient response strong pick attack and consistent performance across tunings. Designed as a drop-in upgrade for many active systems MortalCoil includes all required wiring and controls making it a versatile solution for 7-string players who want multiple tones from a single guitar.
