What is the best snare drum under £350?

The Sonor AQ2 14 x 6 Maple Snare Drum is my best-value pick from these options at £239. The Tama Starclassic Performer LTD Edition at £339 and the compact Mapex MPX at £129 are worth comparing.

I'd start with the Sonor AQ2: its 14 x 6 dimensions make it a sensible shortlist choice for a main snare, and its £239 best new price leaves room in your budget. It's a maple model in Maple Brown Fade, though shell material alone won't tell you how it will sound under your sticks.
