AAS

Applied Acoustics Systems (AAS) is a Canadian developer of software instruments and sound libraries. It is known for physical modelling synthesis, which uses mathematical models of vibrating objects and acoustic systems to generate sound rather than relying on recordings of individual notes.

Its instruments cover several distinct areas: Lounge Lizard models electric pianos, Strum focuses on guitars, and String Studio combines string modelling with synthesiser controls. Chromaphone explores sounds produced by modelled acoustic resonators, while Ultra Analog provides analogue-style synthesis and Multiphonics offers modular synthesis. AAS also supplies sound libraries and bundles, including the Session Bundle and Modeling Collection.

The AAS products currently listed in stock through MyGear’s partner retailers range from £77 to £839. The catalogue spans individual instruments, sound-library packages and broader collections, placing the brand in the paid music-software market for users seeking specific instrument sounds or a wider set of synthesis tools.
