Sela 18" Ocean Drum

Available from Gear4Music at 122,30 €.

The Sela 18" Ocean Drum is ideal for calm sound work classroom exploration and gentle rhythm sessions where you want wave-like textures at your fingertips. I like how the dual-head layout gives you two clear characters to play with the natural skin brings a softer earthier feel while the synthetic head adds a brighter edge. Inside a mix of metal and plastic beads move freely as you tilt the frame giving you anything from a quiet shore to a rolling swell.Theres also a closable opening on the frame so you can adjust the amount of beads. Its a simple tweak that really helps you set the response for the setting youre in whether thats a therapy room or a group session. And if you want to go beyond the rolling motions you can tap the heads with your hand or use mallets to widen the palette. Its a friendly versatile drum that fits naturally into relaxation work creative play and mindful music-making.
