The Tama Starclassic Walnut/Birch 14" x 6.5" Snare Drum is suited to drummers wanting punchy attack warmth and controlled resonance. Its 6mm shell combines four plies of birch with two inner plies of American black walnut balancing birchs focused response with the firmer warmer character of walnut. This gives you a punchy sound with a mellow tonal character.Tamas carefully shaped bearing edge is positioned 2.5mm inside the shells outer surface and uses a rounded collar designed to follow the drumheads natural shape. The closer fit helps the head and shell resonate effectively giving each strike a clear responsive voice. Die-cast zinc hoops add a sharp solid character to rimshots while the 14" x 6.5" dimensions provide plenty of depth for a full snare sound. The Smoked Silver Sparkle finish completes the drum with a textured silver-grey appearance.
