The Epiphone Explorer 80s Inspired by Gibson in Classic White pays tribute to the era when this radical body shape became a defining symbol of hard rock and metal. First introduced in the late 50s the Explorer wasnt widely embraced until players in the 70s and especially the 80s realised its huge tone and futuristic stage presence. This modern version draws heavily from the revered 1984 model famously used by players like The Edge Billy Gibbons and James Hetfield. Equipped with an EMG 60 in the neck and an EMG 81 in the bridge this Explorer delivers the tight lows searing highs and razor-sharp attack that defined the decades heaviest sounds. The 60s SlimTaper neck offers fast movement across all 22 frets while the mahogany body keeps the tone thick punchy and resonant. With a LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge Stop Bar tailpiece and rugged metal knurled knobs its built for precision and reliability.
