Based on the original Custombucker this underwound version features fewer windings on the bobbins resulting in a more defined articulate sound with greater emphasis on overtones and harmonics. The Alnico III magnets provide a warm sweet tone thats perfect for players looking for a vintage PAF vibe. Crafted with vintage-accurate 42 AWG wire and unbalanced coils this pickup stays true to the iconic Patent Applied For humbuckers of the 50s. The coils are left unpotted for historical accuracy while the maple spacers help to reduce unwanted vibrations. Equipped with a shielded single conductor braided pushback wire a long leg base plate and a patent applied for sticker this pickup offers both classic tone and reliable performance. Made in the USA its a true representation of Gibsons rich legacy in humbucker design.
