The Gibson J-45 Standard in Purple Burst is a stunning twist on a true acoustic icon. First introduced in the 1940s and affectionately known as the "Workhorse" the J-45 has earned its place as one of the most played and recorded guitars of all time. Its round-shoulder dreadnought body built from mahogany with a Sitka spruce top delivers a full and balanced voice with punchy lows warm mids and crystal-clear highs. This classic tonewood pairing makes it a dependable partner for writing gigging or recording. The Purple Burst finish adds a bold modern edge to its timeless silhouette creating a guitar that sounds as good as it looks. A SlimTaper mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard provide smooth playability while the compound dovetail neck joint enhances resonance and sustain. Simple mother-of-pearl dot inlays keep the look understated complementing the teardrop pickguard and nickel hardware. A traditional rosewood belly-up bridge paired with a TUSQ nut and saddle ensures stability and precise intonation. Equipped with LR Baggs VTC electronics the J-45 Standard is ready for the stage or studio straight out of its hardshell case. The Purple Burst J-45 continues the proud legacy of Gibsons most celebrated acoustic model.
