The Gibson SG Standard 61 Faded in Faded Vintage Cherry Satin captures the spirit of the early 1960s SG design while offering a broken-in look and feel straight out of the case. Its lightweight solid body and iconic double-cutaway silhouette deliver the unmistakable style that has defined the SG for decades. The faded nitrocellulose lacquer finish gives the instrument a warm aged appearance while allowing the wood to resonate freely contributing to the lively response that players expect from this classic model. A SlimTaper mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard provide smooth fast playability across 22 medium jumbo frets. At the core of the SG Standard 61 Faded is a pair of 60s Burstbucker humbuckers designed with historically accurate unbalanced coils and Alnico V magnets to deliver open harmonically rich tones. Combined with vintage-inspired hardware and hand-wired electronics the SG Standard 61 Faded offers the classic SG sound and feel that has inspired generations of guitarists.
