Sela 22" Ocean Drum

Available from Gear4Music at € 155,22.

The Sela 22" Ocean Drum is ideal for meditation music therapy creative sound design and relaxed practice sessions. I like how its dual-head build gives you two distinct tonal characters one natural skin one synthetic so you can switch between softer warmth and brighter detail just by changing which side faces up. The mix of metal and plastic beads moves smoothly across the heads as you tilt the frame creating everything from gentle surf-style hushes to more forceful wave crashes. You can also adjust the bead amount through the closable side opening which is handy when you want tighter control over volume or articulation. And if you want extra versatility you can strike the heads with your hands or use mallets to open up new textures. Its a straightforward instrument that invites experimentation and works well in calming expressive settings.
