Anirudh Ravichander

Born in Chennai, Indian composer and playback singer Anirudh Ravichander emerged as a dominant force in cinema after launching his career in 2011. He attained overnight international fame with his viral debut track Why This Kolaveri Di from the Tamil romantic psychological thriller 3. Since that explosive breakthrough, he has composed scores for a succession of major Indian cinematic blockbusters, including his acclaimed, pulse-pounding soundtrack for the 2023 action film Jailer. Ravichander’s signature sound bridges traditional film scoring with modern pop sensibilities and driving electronic rhythms, defining the sonic identity of contemporary South Indian mainstream music. Grounded in his command of the piano and synthesizers, he frequently pairs custom keyboard arrangements with his distinct, emotive vocals to build the atmospheric hooks and dynamic beat drops that characterize his production style. Today, he remains one of the Indian film industry’s most sought-after hitmakers, continually reshaping the landscape of modern cross-genre film composition.
