Tom Morello

Tom Morello, born in Harlem, New York, and raised in Libertyville, Illinois, is a highly influential guitarist, singer, and songwriter active since 1988. A Harvard graduate, his unique approach to the instrument has profoundly impacted alternative rock, rap-rock, funk metal, and hard rock. Morello is best known for his groundbreaking work with Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, and Prophets of Rage, where his innovative use of effects and toggle switch manipulation transforms the guitar into an array of unconventional sounds, often described as "sound effects" or "turntablism." His career is marked by multiple Grammy Awards and critical acclaim for his distinctive sonic palette and politically charged lyricism. Beyond his band work, Morello maintains an active solo career as The Nightwatchman and has collaborated with numerous artists.
