The Crumar Varispeed Tape Emulator Pedal is suited to players wanting authentic tape echo sounds with deep control. Inspired by classic tape-based delay units it recreates the way transport speed affects every aspect of the effect. Adjusting the motor speed changes delay time frequency response noise level and pitch stability allowing you to move from bright focused repeats to darker more unstable echoes. Three playback heads provide a wide range of timing options and layered delay textures. Dedicated HISS and WEAR controls let you adjust the condition of the virtual machine adding anything from subtle ageing to noticeable saturation noise and movement. The dry signal remains on a fully analog path preserving the natural sound and feel of your instrument while the effect engine recreates the behaviour and response of classic tape echo hardware.
