The Evans Strata 1000 Concert Drum Head is made with a 10-mil ply of textured film and designed to have a similar tone and texture to natural calf skin. This affordable drum skin has a unique strata coating that produces a warm sound and responsive feel. A slightly thicker film gives a dark timbre similar to that of thick calfskin heads. Its ideal for students and anyone looking for a tough durable and reliable drum head. These drum heads have a warm full sustain with a mid-range attack that blends well with orchestras and wind ensembles. The thickness of this head gives you a nice blend - sensitive enough for quieter playing but able to cut through an entire ensemble when pushed to louder dynamics.
