The Hohner Mellow Tone 48 Harmonica is a harp with a warm rich tone. Created to honour the jazz legend Toots Thielemans - famous for his chromatic harmonica playing - this harp is designed for playing ballads and classical pieces. In order to recreate Toots preferred specifications Hohner has opted for a pearwood comb which helps to create the warm tone and the comb is lacquered for added durability. Follow in the footsteps of one of the most iconic jazz musicians of the 20th century. The chrome-plated mouthpiece is comfortable so it allows you to slide between the notes easily. Also the reed plates are coated with nickel which is a relaible metal providing strong articulation and a fast and precise response. These details enhance the chromatic harmonicas playability giving you control over the notes so you can experiment confidently with the jazz style.
