The Hohner Progressive Special 20 Harmonica has been designed to provide the easiest and most comfortable playing experience. First produced in the 70s the Special 20 was the worlds first modern harmonica and many others have been inspired by its design. Its recessed reed plate means the cold and sometimes abrasive metal is sunk into the comb creating a fully plastic contact between your lips and the mouthpiece. This improves comfort massively and the glide experience is incredibly smooth. As the comb is made of ABS it wont swell or crack either. This instrument is a favourite amongst beginners and professionals because of its ease to play and accessible price. If you are learning to bend the Special 20 is ideal as every note bends with ease. The small opening at the back of the cover plate produces a warm and mellow tone which is beloved by players who find the tone of the Marine Band series a little bright for their tastes. Both chords and single notes will sound exceptional with the Special 20.
