The Meinl Byzance Vintage 22" Trash China is suited to drummers seeking dry explosive accents with controlled sustain. Crafted from B20 bronze and shaped with deep hand hammering it produces a dark trashy voice with a quick response that sits comfortably in a mix. The sandblasted finish helps soften the initial attack giving the cymbal an earthy character and naturally aged feel. Precision cut-outs further dry the sound reducing sustain while opening up fast expressive accents for punchy crashes and effects. Raw hammering around the centre combined with lathed edges and a fully lathed underside balances the cymbals sharp attack with a controlled wash and smooth stick feel. Its thin weight low volume and medium-short sustain make it well suited to studio work as well as rock funk fusion jazz pop gospel R&B and other styles where a darker more controlled china sound is needed.
