The Meinl Percussion African Style Medium Djembe is suited to players wanting an authentic hand drum for practice workshops and small performances. Carved from a single piece of plantation-grown mahogany the shell produces a focused low end with clear mids and highs. This one-piece build also adds strength so it holds up well to regular playing. The 10" head and 20" height strike a nice balance between portability and presence making it easy to move around without losing body in the sound.A hand-selected goatskin head gives you a natural playing surface with good sensitivity across bass tone and slap strokes. Its paired with a traditional Mali weave tuning system using pre-stretched HTP nylon rope helping the djembe stay in tune for longer and making adjustments straightforward when needed. Finished in a natural look it keeps things simple and rooted in classic djembe design.
