The Meinl Sonic Energy Octave Steel Tongue Drum Engraved D Kurd is a high-quality stainless-steel tongue drum tuned to D Kurd. It features a central bass note in the middle plus eight more notes around it. These eight notes consist of two reeds each delivering the tone in two octaves. This creates a wonderful meditative sound – very similar to the sound of a handpan. The sound hole is positioned at the bottom of the tongue drum which can be closed with a silicone plug to make the sound quieter. This tongue drum features three silicone feet at the bottom to keep the drum from slipping. You can play the Octave Steel Tongue Drum with mallets or with your fingers. Just place it on a flat surface or on your lap to start playing. The drum includes two wooden mallets with rubber heads and a nice carrying bag with zipper and handle.
