Pirastro Oliv strings are finely wound gut strings wound with chrome steel for extra projection and tonal complexity. Oliv strings are designed to withstand a heavier bow arm as the gut requires more energy for a string to speak properly. The timbre of the strings is dark and powerful thanks to the gut core and metal winding. These strings sound very attractive when youre playing pizzicato with a dark and growly plucked sound. A large tonal volume is achievable again this is thanks to the metal winding.
