The Steinberg Backbone is a re-synthesis plugin to create new custom samples from existing sounds. Backbone lets you combine up to eight layers to build kicks snares hi-hats cinematic hits and more with individual synthesis filtering envelopes and processing available for every layer. Developed by Sony CSL the integrated DrumGAN technology generates original kick snare and cymbal samples using AI while also analysing existing sounds to create fresh variations. Backbones Resynth engine lets you manipulate samples spectrally by stretching freezing or accelerating playback opening up creative sound design techniques beyond conventional sample editing. You can also split any sample into separate tonal and noise components giving you detailed control over every element of your sound before exporting finished audio directly into your clip-based workflow.
