The Tama Jazz Master 14 x 4.5 Peter Erskine Signature Snare is a hybrid snare drum built in collaboration with famous jazz drummer Peter Erskine. This snare drum is constructed using four layers of spruce and two layers of maple a combination thats guaranteed to deliver extremely focused sounds. This tone is further enhanced by the sound focus ring specially fitted below the batter head to control overtones and create a more focused well-rounded tone. The shallow 4.5 shell depth offers an incredibly responsive feel whether youre playing soft ghost notes or playing at full force. This ensures that even the most subtle playing dynamics arent washed out in the overall mix perfect for jazz performances. This sensitivity is balanced by the 8-lug design which allows for a low fundamental body of sound.
