The PureGrit 5A is lacquer-free but undergoes an abrasive process to open up the grain and make it more abrasive. Its not the tackiest solution but its comfortable and has minimal effect on your playing while providing grip for your sweaty hands! No more sticks flying away mid-set. For many drummers thats the sweet spot.
