Darker sounding mallet. The Vic Firth Tom Gauger Legato Bass Drum Mallet features a special felt core for a darker tone and subtle articulation. Its also heavier than the TG01 general purpose mallet. This is a great addition to your mallet set as it comes in handy in various situations. Tom Gauger himself switches between this and the TG01 because he found that sometimes drum heads could produce a brittle sound.
