Roland

Roland is a Japanese musical instrument manufacturer founded in 1972. Its range includes synthesisers, drum machines, digital and stage pianos, electronic drums, guitar amplifiers, music software and accessories. Hardware instruments sit alongside software recreations of classic designs available through Roland Cloud, including the TB-303 and JUNO-106.

The brand is widely known for the TR-808 and TR-909 drum machines and the TB-303 bass synthesiser, which became important instruments in hip-hop, house, techno and acid house. Its JUNO and JUPITER synthesisers also feature prominently in electronic music history. Other established product families include V-Drums electronic drums and Jazz Chorus guitar amplifiers, including the JC-120.
