How we pick
Every Monday we score all used bass guitars currently for sale that we can match to our catalogue. The Value score (0β100) combines:
- Discount vs new (35%) β the used price against today's lowest new price. 40% or more under new gets full points.
- Deal vs normal used price (25%) β cheaper than this model usually sells for second-hand. While we build up price history this part may be skipped and its weight goes to the discount.
- Quality and reputation (20%) β review scores where we have them, otherwise brand reputation and how many famous artists use it.
- Demand (10%) β how popular the model is on MyGear; popular models are easier to resell.
- Listing freshness (10%) β recently confirmed listings score higher.
We only include listings between β¬150 and β¬5.000, at least 10% under new, and no more than 2 per brand and one per model, so the list stays varied. Prices change quickly; always check the listing. Links are affiliate links β they never change the ranking.
