The Synergy VAI module captures the unmistakable character of Steve Vais signature tones in a compact all-tube preamp format. Developed over months of collaborative testing with Steve this dual-channel design offers everything from shimmering cleans to the soaring expressive overdrive heard throughout his iconic recordings. The blue channel delivers sparkling clarity with the option of lightly driven American-style breakup enhanced by FAT and BRIGHT switches to dial in your preferred response. The red channel brings the attitude ranging from the tight drop-tuned aggression of "Bad Horsie" to the rich singing sustain of "For the Love of God." Powered by a pair of 12AX7 valves the VAI module is compatible with Synergy preamp docks as well as older Egnater and Randall modular systems via its DUAL/SINGLE mode switch. A three-position cathode select switch tailors input tube bias and bass response to classic USA British or Vai-preferred voicings letting you shape the feel as well as the sound.
